First in the area, the Fort Wayne Network Access Point (NAP) is the idea that sets the Data Center Apart. The NAP is rooted in the profoundly-simple concept of “keeping local data local.” Its basic rational: Sending data around the world or across the country just to get it across town makes no sense. Existing system routing that pushes traffic out of the area does just that, promoting latencies and internal inefficiencies. The NAP eliminates those concerns by creating a local point of interconnection for multiple broadband network providers to facilitate data transfer. With the NAP, public, private, business, government and educational networks throughout northeast Indiana will be able to “come together” increasing the speed, capacity and reliability of data and applications sharing, giving the region an enhanced ability to compete.
