WHAT ARE THE COMPONENTS OF COLOCATION?
Colocation, the service through which Indiana Data Center supplies
the resources for customers to host their servers within our
facility, consists of the following pieces:
- RACK SPACE- provisioned on a per rack unit (U) basis in shared cabinet space, half rack 22U
private cabinets, or full rack 46U private cabinets.
- POWER-Each colocation plan includes a standard
20 Amp Service with A & B power circuits. For applications that
require more than a 20 Amp service, additional power can be purchased.
Indiana Data Center is powered by a conditioned, 480V, three phase primary grid. Our on-site Diesel Generator provides continuous backup power in the event of a primary grid failure. Our parallel UPS system ensures a seamless transition from primary power to backup power.
- INTERNET CONNECTION- is based on the bandwidth requirements of
the customer. The Internet connection to your server(s) is powered by our multi-homed
connections with multiple providers. Each customer is provided dual 10/100 Ethernet network connections each from a diverse core switch. Servers will require dual NICs to take advantage of the redundancy.
Additional Items:
- IP ADDRESSES- Each colocation plan includes a standard quantity of IP
addresses. If additional IP addresses are required, they can be purchased for
$5.00/month per each additional IP address required.
- ENVIRONMENT- Indiana Data Center regulates climate to maintain
temperature and humidity levels creating an environment to promote optimal
server hardware performance.
- MANAGED SERVICES- Indiana Data
Center can provide managed services to complement your
colocation. These services include: custom monitoring &
reporting services, firewall services, VPN service, IPSec tunnels, load
balancing, and backup & data storage services.
- STANDARD SUPPORT- Each colocation
plan includes 1 hour per month, in 15 minute increments, of manual
reboots, hardware replacement and physical work to the server.
Standard support does not include the design, development and/or
implementation of applications, data bases or installation of software.
- TECHNICAL SUPPORT- Time required beyond the 1 hour per month
of standard support or items not covered by standard support can be purchased
at a rate of $125.00 per hour.
WHAT TYPE(S) OF SERVER(S) CAN INDIANA DATA CENTER
ACCOMMODATE FOR COLOCATION?
Any 19" rack mountable server can be accommodated. Towers
are more than welcome, but they will require a shelf and will be priced
per RU of space they require.
HOW DO WE GET OUR SERVER(S) TO INDIANA DATA CENTER?
You can either ship your server(s) to us via your shipping company
of choice and have us perform the installation, or you are more than
welcome to bring your server(s) and perform the installation
yourself. Server installation performed by Indiana Data Center is
not included in the setup fee and is billable at the Technical Support
rate of $125.00 per hour.
CAN I COME IN AND WORK ON MY SERVER(S) AT INDIANA DATA
CENTER?
Yes. You can call and schedule a time to work on your
server(s) during our Standard hours of 7:00am
to 6:00pm Eastern time. Work to be performed within the
Standard hours of 7:00am
to 6:00pm Eastern time are to be scheduled, at minimum, 24 hours
in advance. Work that is required to be performed between the
hours of 6:01pm and 6:59am Eastern time will need to be scheduled
a minimum of one week in advance. For EMERGENCIES, customers are
provided a 24 hour hot-line number to notify our on-call technicians of
an emergency need to
access their server(s) between the hours of 6:01pm and 6:59am Eastern time, weekends and Holidays.
